MTV Has Cancelled "Ridiculousness" After 1,870 Episodes
I don't even know how to begin this blog. Where do we even start? Do we talk about what MTV used to be or has that been beaten to death by now? Do we discuss how at one point nothing was more culturally significant than MTV and it then became a complete afterthought, worse than Blockbuster and Beanie Babies combined? We could list all the shows that defined generations that aired on MTV, and so on and so forth. But instead, let's just talk about Ridiculousness.
It's the worst thing to ever happen.
That's my take. Someone at MTV realized early on the future of entertainment isn't well produced, well crafted shows, it's brain rot. I will give them credit- they saw it early. And slowly but surely, they realized for 1/100th the cost of producing quality shows, they could just do this instead:
And the rest is history.
They made 1,870 episodes of this slop and will likely be re-airing the show until the meteor blows this entire planet up. All that will be left are the cockroaches, the Twinkies, and the plastic from Chanel West Coast's face as replays of a man being hit in the nuts with a soccer ball plays on repeat on one of those 4,000 pound big screen TVs made in 1999.
The only loser in this ordeal- Rob Dyrdek. He did this god damn show for 1,870 episodes and whatever you think he made...double it. And then double it again....
$32 MILLION A YEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good for Rob, man. Theft like that is special. He probably can't be too mad about it being canceled, knowing how much money he has been stealing from MTV over the years. But man, it's impossible to replace $32 million a year to make the same 4 jokes over and over again unless you're Rob Dyrdek or the Big Bang Theory. But I'm sure Rob will be just fine in his mansions. At some point what good is having hundreds of millions of dollars if you don't take time to spend it?
So RIP to Ridiculousness. Or something. Nobody with a brain will notice it's gone, and nobody who watches it will be able to tell they aren't making new episodes. A true nobody wins situation, but nobody loses either. A true fart in the wind for all.
