Whatever It Takes: After Throwing Six Innings Yesterday, Yoshinobu Yamamoto Has Volunteered To Pitch Tonight And Is Available Out Of The Pen For Game 7 Of The World Series

Yoshinobu Yamamoto has been a rock star for the Dodgers throughout this whole postseason. He's been lockdown.

Last night he continued that trend going six strong (and could have gone more) which helped lead the Dodgers to a Game 6 victory, keeping their season alive. He's largely been responsible for two wins in this World Series and you could easily make the case that he should win the MVP if LA pulls it out tonight (currently +750). You know what would seemingly lock that up? If this crazy son of a bitch pitches tonight after throwing 96 pitches 24 hours ago.

Last night when Yamamoto said this, Dave Roberts shot it down as a possibility. Today he had a different tune. Yamamoto will be available out of the pen. Whatever it takes.

Think that's all bullshit? Well he's getting ready, throwing out in the outfield before the game. Seems legit to me.

It would be all time if he pitches tonight and helps them win the World Series. Back in 2001 Randy Johnson pulled this feat off after throwing seven innings and 104 pitches in Game 6 against the Yankees. He went back out the next night for 4 batters, retiring them in order. So yeah, you gotta bring up prime Randy Johnson to relate to what Yamamoto is in position to do tonight.

This going to be AWESOME. Ohtani is starting, but no one really knows what he's going to be able to give them. Glasnow will likely follow him. Yamamoto and Sasaki will be lurking. On the other side Mad Max gets the ball with Yesavage and Bieber available to back him up. All hands on deck with everything on the line. Game 7 of the World Series, there's nothing like it.
