This Might Just Be The Best Freshman Class In College Basketball History

Happy Opening Day of the 2025-2026 College Basketball season! We debuted our new show on the Mostly Sports network this morning called Mostly Hoops, where Titus, Dana Beers, White Boy Rick, and myself will be going live each Monday morning to discuss all things college basketball.

Today we dove into what some people are saying could go down as the best freshman class ever (didn't we just hear that last year too?). But going into the year, we have what seems like some big time freshman that are expected to lead some title contenders:

- AJ Dybantsa at BYU

- Darryn Peterson at Kansas

- Cameron Boozer at Duke

- Nate Ament at Tennessee

- Mikel Brown at Louisville

- Koa Peat at Arizona

And so on, and so on, and so on. In a sport where people are pumped that Purdue brings back 3 seniors, and Houston brings back a few key pieces, and Florida brings back their front court, and UConn brings back some pieces......it's the newcomers who might be stealing the show this season.

Along with the discussion on the freshman class, check out Mostly Hoops today for takes on the following topics:

- Is Purdue a worthy #1 team in the country?

- Can Braden Smith be trusted with decision making after getting a hideous tattoo?

- Who are the title favorites? Houston? Florida?

- Is UConn or St. Johns going to win the Big East? And is the Pitino vs. Danny Hurley rivalry the new best in the sport?

- Does Duke need to win another National Title at some point?

- Is the SEC going to dominate College Basketball again this season?

Check out all of this and more on the first episode of Mostly Hoops. Enjoy the opening week and we'll see you all again next Monday!
