Terrifying Video Of A Cargo Plane Crashing Into A Warehouse On Takeoff, With Multiple Angles Showing A Truly Devastating Tragedy In Kentucky

No other way to say it, simply horrific harrowing video coming out of Kentucky last night. A UPS cargo plane with 3 souls on board crashed on takeoff and slammed into a nearby warehouse full of workers too. Right now the death toll is at 9 but could increase with a handful of people still in critical condition.

But when you see the other angles of this crash, it's actually a wonder that number wasn't higher off the jump. Just a terrible tragedy all around.

And with full fuel tanks bound for Hawaii and who knows what else for cargo, the Louisville area was forced to do a shelter in place order because of toxic elements enveloping the sky. 5 mile radius. Absolutely insane that one plane is all it takes to create a scene right out of a Roland Emmerich movie. Damn.

As is tradition with the internet, there's already been plenty of self proclaimed "experts" breaking down the footage and giving a guess on what caused this crash. Sounds like the pilots did everything they possibly could but it was sadly an unavoidable issue by the time they were reaching max speed down the runway. Terrifying stuff.

WHAT WE KNOW about the Kentucky plane crash:

— Aircraft is a 34-year-old MD-11 owned and operated by UPS since 2006 with tail number N259UP.

— Preliminary signs point to mechanical/maintenance issue. Aircraft was on fire (left wing); unclear if issue with left engine. Fuel appeared to have ignited.

— Plane took off 2+ hours late, despite having been at airport since 9 AM.

— Plane was bound for Honolulu

— Plane became briefly airborne, suggesting issue detected too late for rejected takeoff

— Smoke plume reached at least 3,000 feet before flattening beneath an “inversion,” or increase in air temperature with bright

The fire on #1 was really bad, no doubt, but the compressor stall that happened on #2 right here was the truly crippling event that sealed their fate. This was likely due to FOD being shoved down its throat from the uncontained failure of #1. Look at the yaw moment right after the compressor stall (puff of fire) from the loss of its thrust. No way that thing was ever gonna climb out on one engine. Not loaded with cargo and fuel. And no, there’s nothing that could’ve been done different from the flight deck. Heartbreaking.

Thoughts & prayers to all the families sorting through the chaos right now. Just another reminder you can't take a single second for granted in this crazy world. Make sure you're always living life to the fullest and fly high out there friends.

And give your parents a call today. They miss you.
