Jerry Jones Is So Worried About The Eagles That He Added A "Poison Pill" In The Trade To Make Sure Green Bay Never Sends Him To Philly

Jerry Jones was once at the helm of an empire. The Dallas Cowboys were a dynasty. They ruled the 90s, they were America's team, they had the best players and the best coaches, because Jerry Jones was once the best owner and best GM. But if you're a fan of history, you know that most empires come to a point where they eventually crash and burn. But most leaders of those empires don't have the ability to stick around and watch the aftermath of the demise.

Jerry Jones has been watching that demise for the past 30 years. He's had to sit there and watch the birth of multiple new dynasties. And worst of all, he's now had to watch as his most hated rival sits on top of the mountain. Jerry Jones hasn't won dick since the invention of DVDs, and the Eagles have turned into one of the most prominent organizations in all of sports.

It has to kill him inside. It has to keep him up at night like Howie Roseman is the boogyman hiding under his bed. He's so shook up by the rise of the Eagles that he can't even make a blockbuster trade without worrying about it benefiting the Eagles a few years down the road. One of the biggest trades he's made in years, and before he was able to pull the trigger on the deal he felt the shadow of Howie Roseman creeping up behind him. I bet the return for Micah Parsons wasn't even the most important detail in that trade for Jerry Jones. The biggest thing he was concerned about was that he doesn't have to worry about seeing Micah Parsons wearing Midnight Green at any point in the near future. That would be like selling your car to someone and before they drive off, you make them swear on their life that they won't turn around and sell the car to your wife's boyfriend Doug.

But it's hard to blame the guy. You'd be absolutely petrified of the Eagles, too, if you were in his position. I guess the only thing he can do to help ease his nerves it to dust off the ol' VHS machine and throw in a tape from the last Cowboys Super Bowl win.
