The Giants Lose The Dumbest Game Ever For The 100th Time In 10 Years
I was trying to figure out how many times I've seen the Giants lose a game like today ever since this dark cloud arrived over the franchise. I couldn't come up with an exact number, so we'll just say 100 times in 10 years to keep it clean and 10 times a season seems about right. No matter how many times Jaxson Dart did something good or the pass rush was hunkering down on Caleb Williams, you just waited for the other shoe to drop. Which it did. Repeatedly. On the Giants skull before it finally broke. Again.
I could go on about how the one thing the Giants can't do is allow Jaxson Dart to get hurt, which obviously happened. Or how Russell Wilson should never take another snap again over Jameis Winston for the Giants, which he obviously did. Or how the gutless play calls in the red zone have cost this regime multiple games over the years before a gassed defense fades down the stretch, which it obviously did once again today.
However, I am going to look at the bright side of all this. Losing today sucked. But in the long run, a loss helps the Giants draft pick. I am not going back to rooting for draft position because I want the legit building blocks the Giants have to build some sort of momentum for next season. But now that the game is over, losing is not the worst thing in the world.
Even more importantly, at some point the dam has to break with ownership and they just admit that this thing needs to be torn down to the foundation again in the front office. We heard how Brian Daboll could be the sacrificial lamb in order to keep Joe Schoen around. But as embarassing loss after embarrassing loss piles up, sooner or later nothing anybody says will save their job. Especially once we start seeing all the shit that goes on behind the scenes of these losses once Hard Knocks starts back up.
We all remember how well everything for the Giants went the last time they were on that show!
So as a wise woman named Gloria once said, sometimes when you lose, you really win. The sting of today's loss is already starting to fade because it's hitting a lot of scar tissue from the last decade. But enough losses will ensure real change and a better draft pick in the end, which isn't the worst thing in the world when all is said and done.
Orrrrrrr the Giants just fuck everything up because there is no reason to think ownership will be able to nail the next GM or head coaching hire. But I can't go back to that dark place in my mind while there is still leftover Halloween candy in my house (Don't worry, it's just the lame shit like Whoppers and Dum Dums). So I am going to keep ringing this bell until I go deaf or insane, which at this rate I'd take Insane -100000 right now if I keep watching this same dogshit every Sunday.
