After Giving Up 1,805 yards and 154 points Over The Last 4 Games, Dan Quinn Has Named Himself The New Defensive Coordinator (But Did Not Fire Joe Whitt Jr)

Well I mean...I guess it's something? When you've given up historical amounts of points over a 4 game stretch you need to do literally anything to show the fans you care, and Dan Quinn decided demoting Joe Whitt Jr and taking over defensive play calling was the move to make. Obviously with the enormous amounts of injuries and overall just bad roster it won't really make a difference, but it's something, I guess.

Keeping JWJ on staff is laughable. He's going to game plan during the week???? Buddy....we've seen how he game plans and it ain't good. Dan Quinn's loyalty to the worst defensive coordinator in the league knows no bounds. I keep saying "it's something" because the defense cannot get worse, but I don't know why DQ would keep Joe Whitt on staff at all. The players obviously are not reacting to his coaching, so it's probably best to move on from him. When it comes down to it, Quinn has been involved in the defensive game planning all season, JWJ is staying on the staff, so all that's changing is who is calling in the play. I don't see this as a huge change that we need.

At the end of the day, this is a lost season no matter what. Injuries have been awful, the roster isn't good enough, and no we're just biding time til the offseason begins. It sucks, but it happens in the NFL. Last year was magic, this year has been the opposite. On to 2026 we go.
