Air Traffic Controllers not showing up to work, grounding thousands of flights. Assistance programs no longer assisting. Meanwhile the Neros in DC have been fiddling while Rome burned.
Finally it seems cooler heads have prevailed. Intense public pressure was brought to bear and finally the government will reopen, which is good news for all. But let's not let that distract us from remembering two things going forward:
Who caused this mess. And who did something about it.

Rain posted a video on X, which instantly made headlines. In the video, Rain was offering to pay for groceries because, due to government dysfunction, those who need them are left stranded.
“i am giving out money to help those in need this week during the government shut down. if you or anyone you know needs assistance this week please drop any payment method below so i can lend a helping hand”
Soon, the tweet turned into a lifeline online. Responses rolled in to her mentions with Cash App handles, Venmo names, and PayPal links from families who had found themselves unexpectedly cut off from the vital safety net that feeds millions.
Rain related her charitable donation to her own personal experiences in a video posted along with her tweet.
“With the government shutdown still in place, I realize that there’s still a lot of families struggling out there, especially with the SNAP funds being stopped,” she said. “I used to live off food stamps. I get it. I’ve been there before,” she added.
Rain continued to thank her community for supporting her artistic journey and stated that she wants to pay forward the opportunity she has received.
“I am really thankful for how far I’ve come, and it’s only because of you guys. As a result, I would love to use my privilege to give back.”

Not while they're producing people like Sophie Rain. Someone who was blessed with the natural talent to make tens of millions a year selling images of herself to sad, socially awkward incels. But with the wisdom, the spirit, and yes, the courage, to put those God-given gifts to work to do the necessary things our elected officials failed to.
So criticize her life choices if you wish. You'll be wrong; but that's your right as a free American. But if you must criticize, just keep in mind that the real whores are the ones we voted for.
