For The 2nd Time This Year, An Eagles Defensive Player Decides To Step Away From Football In The Middle Of The Season

These guys all have lives and families and loved ones outside of football. We, as fans, only watch and care about these guys on a few Sundays every year. Taking care of their mental health so they can be the best version of themselves for the people in their actual life should always be a priority over putting on pads and playing a game for a job.
With that being said…it’s just crazy that this is now the 2nd time this season where the Eagles have acquired a guy who decides that he’d rather just not play football this season. First it was ZaDarius Smith, and now we have Jaire Alexander.
It’s one of those things that really makes you wonder about what’s going on behind the scenes. I don’t think this current situation with Jaire Alexander has anything to do with the inner workings of the Eagles, and it definitely seems more personal than anything. But still. These things just don’t happen to Super Bowl team. Something about the vibes here just aren’t vibing. Which is a shame, because the Jaelan Phillips quotes really made it feel like things were turning around in that department for the Eagles.
Anyway, I guess it was just never meant to be. Eagles fans wanted Jaire Alexander in the offseason, now we finally got him at the trade deadline and he’s stepping away from football. Here’s to hoping he finds all the answers and peace he needs.
