Just In Time For The Most Important Red Sox Offseason In Recent Memory - Episode #1 Of Dirty Water - A Boston Sports Podcast

I wrote this Tuesday on the blog: There is no team under more pressure to improve for 2026 than Craig Breslow and the Boston Red Sox.

They have the ace in Garrett Crochet. They have the young star in Roman Anthony. They have a World Series-winning manager in Alex Cora. They're coming off their first playoff appearance since 2021. And they should have plenty of money and resources to build a legit World Series contender next season.

In their own words, the team is entering their 'Window of contention.' Good. Now go contend.

How do they go about it? It's a baseball Choose Your Own Adventure for Breslow.

So it's the perfect time for a washed-up old man like me to have a podcast where I can rip ownership and the front office when they eventually let me down.

Episode One of Dirty Water - A Boston Sports Podcast is out now.

Hosted by Barstool's newest hire, Hogdale. He's an insane Red Sox fan living in Iowa and calling Red Sox (and Patriots) games from his basement studio.

I think it's safe to say Hog will not be afraid to give his opinions, good or bad, about his teams.

Joining Hogdale is the biggest troll of Yankees' fans on the Internet, KutterisKing. This is a young man who is blocked by Aaron Judge's hitting coach, among other baseball dignitaries, on X.com.

Non-Sox fans HATE Kutter, and he lives for it. He's another guy who is fine ripping the Red Sox when they suck. Maybe we'll get Kutter to do a face reveal at some point. For now, all you get is his Kutter Crawford avatar.

I'll be alongside as well. Having spent years in the Red Sox radio booth, taking Sox calls until midnight, I'm ready to go. Just an old, bald man who has no faith in Breslow to back up all his big words this offseason.

Episode 1 sets the scene for what should be a "No excuses" offseason for the team. Hog is dreaming of a Fernando Tatis Jr. trade. Kutter would rather see Trevor Story at second base vs. shortstop. And I want Kyle Schwarber back in Boston. It's pretty clear we all have high expectations of the team over the next few months - you should, too.

The plan is to release weekly offseason episodes and then episodes following major moves/breaking news from the team. There should be a bunch of those, given Breslow's recent comments.

And if Bregman walks, there's no No. 2 starter in the fold, and Alonso and Schwarber are elsewhere, I'm confident there will be no sugarcoating of the situation on the show.

Episode 1 is out now. Go watch. And listen.
