LaMelo Ball Apparently Scared Away The Timberwolves During The Draft Process Because He Said That He Wanted To Become President Of The United States After He Retired
Listen, the 2020 NBA Draft worked out for maybe four teams. The first team it worked out for is the 76ers, who got Maxey at the 21st overall pick and he's turned out to be their franchise guy for the next decade. The second team you could argue is the Kings, who ended up getting Sabonis in a trade for Haliburton. The Pacers won that trade of course, but Sabonis is a great second choice considering they got Hali at 12.
And the final teams it worked out for were the Timberwolves and Hornets, who went for Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball. Sure, the Hornets suck and have no chance of contending anytime soon while the Timberwolves have been a consistently good playoff team, but LaMelo has that type of aura and swagger you can build around. Who else would have a rooftop go kart in your Charlotte penthouse?
And in those pre draft processes, you wonder where teams heads are at. Sure, there's things like the Wonderlic and S2 test in the NFL that measure a bunch of intelligence meters like perception speed, impulse control, etc.
And in the NBA? They've got the AIQ exam which measures a bunch of cognitive abilities for draft prospects. But above all those, and more importantly, they're asking you questions like what do you want to do after you retire? And for LaMelo, he had some bright dreams.
Bringing that ice to the White House doesn't really seem that far fetched of an idea. Kids these days want to grow up to be livestreamers and the next LaMelo Ball, so call me crazy but I think LaMelo who got a total of 0 seconds of a college education might be a popular choice of the youths in 30 years. Besides, what do you think Anthony Edwards answered that question with?
You could never make me hate LaMelo. Big Baller Brand coming to a White House near you.
