Move Over SEC, The Big 12 May Have Overtaken College Basketball's "Best Conference" Already
And we're back this morning with another episode of Mostly Hoops, the once a week podcast that each time we start, we say "we should do this more often". On today's show, we discussed the dominance of the SEC last year, especially before conference play started. And of course those SEC fans pumped their chests out, shouting from the mountaintops of Tennessee how once again, they're the best conference in the country.
....but are they? So far, in last week alone, Purdue went to Alabama and beat them. Houston beat Auburn. And Louisville beat Kentucky. So while there's probably still an insane amount of depth near the bottom of the SEC, the top might not be what it was last year? And I think you gotta look at the Big 12 from top to bottom as well......
Just something to monitor as the rest of this November goes on into Feast Week! Other topics on today's show include:
- Game recaps for Purdue/Bama, Louisville/Kentucky, UCONN/BYU, Houston/Auburn, and Gonzaga/Creighton
- Is Michigan not as good as we thought they would be?
- Who is the best team in the country?
- Florida State shoots an ACC record 47 threes in a game
- Seth Trimble's injury has been revealed to have been from weight lifting and the machine flipped on him
- Coen Carr has 3 of SportsCenter's Top 10 plays of the night
- Darryn Peterson is "out for the immediate future" for Kansas
Check out all of this and more on the newest episode of Mostly Hoops!
