A New Untold Story (i.e. The Anus Boys) are On Pace For The Longest Stream in Barstool Sports History (Or Maybe They've Broke It Already Idk)
I think they've probably broke the record already? Unless I'm forgetting something obvious? If only there was any way for me to find out for sure. The boys have been streaming for over 2 days straight. They've long surpassed Jersey Jerry's 37 hour hole-in-one stream. They've surpassed Tate's Barstool After Dark 44 hour College Football 26 National Championship stream. As I type this, A New Untold Story is on hour 52 of listing "things". And according to the screen, they're only 66.63942% of the way complete. But they've come a long way from when Dana took over the keys at 1,500.
Is it a bit less impressive because KB and Nick are allowed to take shifts? Meaning one of them is allowed to go home and sleep every now and then? Maybe. But it's a fun stream. And I like those guys. Nick and KB do more shit for Barstool than people realize. I feel like every time someone has a good content idea, there's like a 50% chance it came from Nick. So at bare minimum, I should promote them with a blog.
The original goal of the stream was to "name 100,000 different things". They eventually cut that down to, "name things until we surpass our subscriber count". Which at this point is 67,298. In blogging this, I'm realizing how ridiculous of a thing this is to try and pitch someone on watching. "You should really tune in guys. Trust me. It's amazing. It's a guys naming things. And they never stop."
But I've honestly been watching way more of this, and have been far more entertained by this spectacle than I ever expected. I can't quite tell if the content is complete brain rot, or a good thought provoking exercise. It does jog your memory on very random things a bit. Gets you thinking about people, places, and topics you haven't considered in years. I feel like it'd be a pretty good way to study for a trivia show. It's a lot of naming athletes and celebrities. A lot of naming movies. A lot of naming obscure sports franchises. I've come to realize that I could stare at a screen for days on end just thinking to myself, "Oh yeah, I remember that guy." This stream is basically the final boss of when people say, "Guys can just sit around naming random athletes for hours."
At the very least, it's great ASMR to fall asleep too. I put it on in bed last night and was out like a light within 5 minutes. Which does sound like an insult. But I mean it as a complement. There's something almost hypnotizing about the whole thing.
If they've been going at this for just over 2 days, and they're just over 2/3rds of the way complete, by my math that means they've got ~24 hours to go. Plenty of time to tune in and… watch them name more thing. Things like fallopian tubes, The Presidential Physical Fitness Test, and folders.
It's remarkable how slowly they make progress. Every now and then, Big Cat will put some random words in an envelope, and if they have one of his words on a list, they get a _ word bonus.
Without the bonuses they'd barely be halfway.
They should be done by midnight tomorrow. I think. Unless they hit a wall. Which doesn't seem to be happening. Turns out there's a lot of things in the world. Probably more than 67,000. And if there's not, someone has to get a random word from the list tattooed on their body. Which as much as I want them to succeed for their sake, I'm kinda cheering for. Pretty sure Rico wrote "Spread 'em" at one point. I think that'd be a pretty cool tramp stamp.
