UPDATE: Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry Has Reportedly Missed Day One Of The Miss Universe Pageant After Eating Shit Off The Side Of The Stage
Mohan Raj. Getty Images.Source - Dr. Gabrielle Henry, aka Miss Jamaica, was missing from the end of the 2025 Miss Universe pageant, after an earlier incident sent her to the hospital.
Ultimately, Miss Mexico, Fátima Bosch, won the event.
According to footage posted to social media, on Nov. 19, Henry, 28, was strutting down the stage in Bangkok, Thailand, in a gown, when she fell off the runway and face-planted into the crowd.
Audience members immediately leapt out of their seats to check on the fallen beauty queen. Further footage showed Henry being carried away on a stretcher.
The Video:
She was taken to Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Thailand and is not suffering from any life-threatening injuries, the Miss Universe Jamaica organization said in a statement on social media on Thursday.
Raul Rocha, owner of the Miss Universe pageant, posted an update on Thursday.
“I was there with her family and her, and thankfully, there are no broken bones, and she is under good care. She will remain under observation for the rest of the night, and we will remain in touch with her family and support her,” Rocha wrote, adding, “Our prayers go out for her prompt recovery.”
I believe it was Austin Butler who said, "embarrassment is an under explored emotion." He's wrong, of course, embarrassment has been properly explored and should be avoided at all costs. There is no need to suffer embarrassment just for the sake of suffering embarrassment. If it is standing in the way of your goals then that's one thing, but getting embarrassed "for sport" is crazy people behavior. Which is why I wholeheartedly agree with Miss Jamaica's decision to skip day one of the competition. If I were her I'd skip all the days. She's not winning the thing, why go back on stage and remind people that you fucked up? There's no need. That situation, that emotion, that trauma…has already been explored. It's time to move on. Dante wrote about the original story…
There's also a TON of controversy surrounding this year's competition that I don't feel like getting into. Here's the long and short of it…
This is just one of numerous scandals to make waves at the 47th annual Miss Universe pageant.
Miss Universe judge Omar Harfouch resigned from the pageant’s official jury, mere days before this year’s competition began.
Harfouch alleged that an “impromptu jury” with personal ties to participating contestants had already chosen which contestants would move forward out of the 136 women competing.
Nawat Itsaragrisil, another Miss Universe executive, was also dismissed from this year’s pageant following a confrontation with Miss Mexico.
Corruption?! Shocker! Oh well. I don't think anyone cares about these things anyway. Regardless, I hope Miss Jamaica makes a full and speedy recovery. Have a great weekend.
