Anthony Edwards Said He Had To Change His Free Throw Technique Because "Some Famous Guy" (Mark Cuban) Went On A Podcast And Complained Until They Changed The Rules
Narc Cuban! Look, I'm all for teams finding a way to change the game so they can figure out how to beat the big bad Lakers. To do that, you need to slim down the competition in the West so you can even find a chance to dethrone the King. Some teams are just laying over and rolling dead while their coach uses football analogies that would make a grown man cringe:
And in the case of the Mavericks and Mark Cuban, while he doesn't technically own the team anymore, he's still involved. And for some context, he went on a podcast and complained about how Anthony Edwards steps over the line every time he takes a free throw which is technically a lane violation:
This is what Anthony Edwards' free throw looked like before:
And this is what it looks like now:
The only video I could find was him missing two free throws to give every fan some chicken nuggets, but the numbers haven't actually really changed, going from 83.6-83.7% in the last two seasons to 82.3% this year. And Cuban decided to double down, saying that it wasn't actually Anthony Edwards' fault, but Adam Silver not having a control over his league:
I donno, man. This feels like a minuscule problem in the grand scheme of things. What's next? You don't let LeBron do his chalk toss? You don't let the Mavericks trade the best player in the league for our aging veteran and make the Lakers a contender again? The more things change the more they stay the same.
And there's nothing that stays the same like Barstool's annual 20% Black Friday sale, which lasts through this weekend on the entire store. Here are my favorites:
