Still Can't Get Over Frank Ragnow Coming Out Of Retirement To Save The Lions Only To Fail His Physical Because He Showed Up With a Grade 3 Hamstring Strain (Torn In Half)

The Detroit Lions season is quickly swirling down the drain. The departure of Ben Johnson has definitely hurt more than they anticipated, but what's really killed them of late has been the offensive line play. Frank Ragnow's retirement in the offseason left a gaping void that they've mightily struggled to replace. The ripple effect of that part of the team has put them in a bad spot, on the outside looking in of the playoffs as we enter Week 14. The Lions-Cowboys clash on Thursday is essentially a loser leaves town game.

Out of nowhere, at the last possible second to be roster eligible, Ragnow announced he was indeed un-retiring to help save the Lions. The news was the exact kind of shot in the arm the franchise needed.

Just like that a life line had been thrown to the Lions, only to find out over the weekend that this wasn't happening at all. Turns out while getting a team physical Ragnow was revealed to have a grade three hamstring strain.

Let me say that again…GRADE THREE HAMSTRING STRAIN. That requires surgery to repair. We're talking a full rupture of the hamstring. I promise this is not me celebrating an injury in the slightest, but Ragnow coming out of retirement only to find out his hamstring was torn in half before making it to one single practice is funny.

Was he just walking around with a fully torn hamstring having no clue in the world? That's not like a hairline fracture in your leg, you have to be able to notice your hamstring is hanging off the bone, right? I was walking to work today and felt a little pull in my groin. Toughed out the day, but I'm dreading my walk back home in the cold. Once I hit the couch tonight it's curtains, but we're not even categorizing that as a grade 1 pull. GRADE 3??? I'm using a fucking wheelchair. Frank just strolled on in like it was nothing but a scratch.

My other question is how did Frank Ragnow fully tear his hamstring in retirement life? What is this man doing in his spare time? We all pick up our injuries here and there as we get older, but fully tearing your hammy? That doesn't just happen walking around the house.

It's so football that Ragnow tried to make the Lions squad with a fully torn hamstring. Honestly with the state of their o-line play I would have still taken him on the roster. Hard to be worse than what they have going for themselves now. The Packers abused them all day on Thanksgiving. The Lions were already screwed, but without Ragnow coming to the rescue this season might actually be over for Detroit. Lose on Thursday and it's time to rethink the future of this core a little bit.
