And With The Panthers Massive Upset Of The Rams The Door Is Wide Open For Drake Maye To Win The NFL MVP Award

I love the NFL. 

 
Tabbed the BEST TEAM IN THE NFL!!!!!, the LA Rams went to Carolina to face the Panthers on Sunday as a big favorite. 

And they lost. 

31-28 Panthers the final. Quarterback Matt Stafford was driving his team late before turning it over.

The Panthers needed a first down late to seal the game away. 

And they would get it. Wow. The Rams' first loss since Week 5. Thanks to tiebreakers, the Chicago Bears are currently the No. 1 seed in the NFL. 👀👀

And Patriots quarterback Drake Make has a real shot to win the NFL MVP.

As the game was close late, I pulled up the MVP Odds on DraftKings. And over the course of 10 minutes, as the Rams were losing, we had some movement. 

Stafford went from -175 to -150, then to -140, and eventually to -120. 

Meanwhile, Maye started the window at +200. Then +175. Then +165. And as I write this, +150. 

The bettors thought what I did: If the Pats get the 1-seed and the Rams end up playing that first weekend, Maye is going to be the MVP. Maye has had a great second year for the Patriots, as evidenced by a 110 QB rating, 21 TDs, and over 3000 passing yards. 

But Stafford had been better - until Sunday. It was a bad day for Stafford, turning the ball over three times in the loss. The Rams QB has been getting credit for all these TDs (32 now on the season) with limited INTs. He doubled his INT total (2 to 4) as the Rams fell in Carolina at 10.5-point favorites. 

Maye and the Pats play Monday night against the Giants, and if Maye has a big game, it won't be a surprise to see him as the MVP favorite. And if they hold on for the No. 1 seed, he'll have a real chance to win the award in just his second NFL season.  

Good day for Maye. Good day for the Bears. A bad day for the Rams and Stafford's MVP shares. 

Oh, and a terrible day for Meow Mix, the Panthers podcast that bailed because the team was so bad. Would have been a banger episode tonight.
