Perhaps The Sickest Rumor Coming Out of The Lane Kiffin Saga is That Juice Kiffin Was Not Even His Dog And Was Left Behind in Oxford

The college football rumor mill is something else. You hate to engage in it. Because rumors are only rumors. And if there were ever a group of people motivated to perpetuate a not 100% factual rumor about someone, it's the good scorned people of Ole Miss with Lane Kiffin at this very moment. 

But this rumor is a good one. And sometimes it's fun to eat the trash. One of the many (and I'm sure there will be many more to come) rumors coming out of Ole Miss following Kiffin's unceremonious departure is that his beloved Labrador Retriever Juice Kiffin... the dog he parades around on game day... the dog he made famous with his own Twitter account... the dog who fetches the tee from the Ole Miss field after kickoffs...

Rumor has it... Lane Kiffin has left Juice Kiffin behind in Oxford. Rumor has it, Juice Kiffin isn't even Lane Kiffin's dog. Or at least he hasn't been for a while.

I paid the $12.99/month pass to gain access to the 247 Ole Miss message boards – the source of all good college football rumors. From what I can tell, the most reliable source I can find is a man named Chase Parham, who covers/reports on Ole Miss for 247 Sports.

I have reached out to Chase for comment. He told me, "It's true that Juice was still in Oxford as of late yesterday and he spends the overwhelming majority of his time under the care of the owner if Wildrose. For a couple years now, that's not even a secret really in Oxford."

Thank you, Chase. That's pretty damning evidence tbh. 

On top of that… well… the Rebels247 message boards feature yet another damning firsthand report from olemiss33, who says he was personally told Juice would go to Wildrose Kennels for obedience training, but Lane failed to follow though on the additional work needed to train the lab. Olemiss33 says he personally knows the guy who replaced the base boards in the Kiffin house after Juice tore them up. 

So to sum up the rumor, Juice Kiffin wasn't properly trained, and was eventually sent back to Wildrose where he was originally from.

And like Chase said, Juice Kiffin not really being Lane's dog seems to be common knowledge in Oxford.

According to some, Lane Kiffin may have never owned Juice in the first place. Juice may have been custody of Wildwood this entire time. But for at least the last 2 years, Juice has allegedly been nothing more than a PR stunt for Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss. 

God damn it, Lane. If this whole thing is true, and Juice Kiffin was left back to live with a handler from Wildrose in Oxford, Mississippi for good… well it sounds like a great thing for Juice. Wildwood looks like a pretty nice place for a dog.

And you certainly don't want to live with a family who doesn't want you. But if I were Lane Kiffin in the days leading up to yesterday, knowing the shit storm that was about to come down on me after I fuck everyone over, I'd have almost been most worried about the Juice fallout. People don't play around when it comes to dogs. I'm sure Lane knew this was going to come up. I'm sure every sorority at LSU has always inquired about getting Juice to their house. You can't just show up to a new school without the dog you intentionally made famous and expect people not to notice. 

So what does Lane do now? Do we think he was planning to find a kennel, or a new handler for Juice in Baton Rouge? Would Wildrose even give Juice back to Lane if he asked? You gotta assume they're Ole Miss fans. If Lane Kiffin was a bad dog owner, I'm sure they're going to play that card and refuse to give up custody of Juice for the sake of the dog. We all knew Lane Kiffin would one day leave Ole Miss and burn it all down on his way out. But to leave "your dog" behind in the rubble…… I mean, I love what you do for college football Lane… I appreciate all the drama… but that's pretty dark.

The rumors are flying. I can only imagine this is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to Ole Miss-Lane Kiffin stories. Any Ole Miss fan who Lane Kiffin so much as looked at the wrong way is going to come out of the woodwork with a scathing "When I met Lane Kiffin" review. 

But thoughts and prayers to Juice. I can't wait to see what happens next. Does Lane have something up his sleeve? Who has the password to the Juice Kiffin Twitter account? Are we about to get a tweet from @JuiceKiffin announcing his arrival in Baton Rouge? Or are we going to hear that Juice has filed for emancipation, that he'll be dropping the last name Kiffin, and that he's a Reb for life. It's gotta be something. The internet won't just let Juice the innocent dog who has no fucking idea what's going on go quietly into the night. Juice needs a new landing spot the same half of Ole Miss' players will after the season. There has to be some sort of conclusion to the Juice Kiffin story.
