The Haters And SIckos Are Beside Themselves Because The Chicago Bears Currently Sit Atop The NFC
They don't hang banners for being in 1st place on December 30th, but I am a big believer of trying to enjoy the good times when you're in them. All season long we've hemmed and hawed about the Bears. We've been cautious. We haven't let ourselves get too high or dream too big. All of that is out the window now. The Chicago Bears are 9-3. They've won 9 of their last 10. They're in first place after 13 weeks for the first time since 2006. If enjoying this run is wrong, I don't want to be right. I am in love with this team.
Every single Bears fan and seemingly everyone in and around the organization wanted the Bears to look different. They took the "can't miss", "generational", Heisman winning QB first overall. Then they went out and got the coach everyone wanted the last two offseasons. An offensive guru wunderkind. The more things change, the more they stay the same. This is still the Chicago Bears type of football that we grew up on and that we love. An identity. I mean look at how they ran the fucking ball this week.
Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Dean...right down their fucking throats. Bears were 7 point underdogs, on the road, on a short week, against the defending Super Bowl champions and they absolutely DOMINATED Philly. The Wunderkind can apparently scheme up some shit in the running game too because Philly, and the rest of the entire league, hasn't been able to stop the Bears on the ground all year long. Running the ball and taking it away are two things that will never going out of style and the Bears officially do those two things better than anyone.
I am still nervous. I want the playoffs so badly. Now not only are the playoffs in their sights, but possibly the NFC North and a bye week with the #1 overall seed in the NFC. Not even the most optimistic Bears fan thought Chicago would be in this spot. Heading up north to play the Packers with an opportunity to put the division in a chokehold. It's unbelievable. Let the haters and sickos say fraud and complain about the schedule. Let fucking Stathole use all his analytics and formulas to convince people to miserable. The only numbers I need right now are 9-3. Good, better, and hopefully this week they play their fucking BEST. Let's ROLL. BEAR DOWN
