A Couple Of ABSURD Brian Kelly Stories I Just Came Across That Make Me Think He Shouldn't Get Another Big Job
Between this and the talk out of LSU that Brian Kelly played over 400 rounds of golf in his short time in Baton Rouge makes you think that Brian Kelly shouldn't get another job. Maybe he doesn't want one either. The man is now 64 years old and set to get his full buyout of $54M from LSU. That is a really nice way to ride off into the sunset. Especially since the clip above made it sound like he was semi-retired anyways. "Hey coach, can you talk to this kid about coming to Notre Dame? He's an NFL talent at WR."...."ehhh, I'm busy", then he proceeds to finish his plate of pasta before heading to the golf course.
This is all BAD news for LSU. That buyout gets somewhat mitigated by whomever hires him next and at this rate he might be looking at Grand Valley State again. Reportedly the only open job that Kelly wanted was Michigan State and they quickly snatched up Pat Fitzgerald instead which seems like a MUCH better hire than BK. So now he's sitting on the couch hoping his agent doesn't call. Doesn't want to have to sell a kid on ND so he probably doesn't want to sell himself to a middling Power 4 school. Maybe after a year away he will be hungry to recruit and send video staff up into a scissor lift again, but until then he's going to be on the figurative sidelines.
