AJ Styles Pulled Off A Styles Clash For The Ages On RAW Last Night
Every so often, we get a wrestling clip that breaks out of the hardcore fan bubble and stops everyone in their tracks, and this week - that moment was AJ Styles dropping one of the cleanest, crispest, most beautiful Styles Clashes of his entire career. AJ literally caught Kofi Kingston mid-flip off a Dragon Lee double stomp, perfectly in-position for a Styles Clash - Dragon Lee hit one more dive after the stomp - and Styles put the exclamation on it for the finish. It was something you'd do with your action figures growing up that most would assume not possible.
The internet did what it always does afterwards, where half the fans screamed “GOATED moment” and the other half went full smart mark pointing out that The Young Bucks and others have pulled this (and other similar moves) off before. And sure - cool, but here’s the thing: it doesn’t matter. Because this wasn’t just seeing “that move" again. This was AJ Styles doing the move he made famous with absolute god-tier timing and a new spin on it at 48 years old. It's also happening on Monday Night RAW, where we almost never see moves that fluid and insane, which obviously makes it a bigger deal as well. Trying to poo-poo this is just sad.
Wrestling isn’t about doing it first - it’s about how the crowd reacts....and judging by this pop? Mission accomplished AJ and Dragon Lee! Here's some of AJ's best Styles Clashes over the years....
P.S. Also gotta shoutout Kofi for playing his part perfectly as well - 44 years old and hasn't lost a step!
