Timothée Chalamet & Adam Sandler Looking Back At Their Own Movies Together Is An Awesome Watch
Timothée Chalamet and Adam Sandler recently got together at Fairfax High School’s gymnasium in Los Angeles to record an installment of Vanity Fair's 'Rewatch' series, and I just wanted to put this on everyone's radar as an incredibly enjoyable 30-minute watch.
They talk a little SNL, some Big Daddy, each of their Safdie movies ('Uncut Gems'/'Marty Supreme'), a lot of 'Punch Drunk Love', and more; it honestly makes you wish these two were the next celebrities to start a podcast together. It's such a chill but interesting and funny conversation between a couple guys with the utmost respect and admiration for each other. In the words of my friend Glenny Balls: "All class."
I haven't seen a live version of the Vanity Fair 'Rewatch' (or a duo version) before but I do think it's an awesome show. They recently had good episodes with Miles Teller, Michael Shannon, and even my arch-nemesis James Cameron. Highly recommended as a casual dinnertime/bedtime watch.
Sandler/Chalamet played some pick up basketball after filming this, which feels very on brand for both of them....
Talk about a dream blunt rotation. Oh, and a real quick side note on 'Marty Supreme' - I was lucky enough to see it early and loved it just as much as everyone else....
It's a fantastic story, it's a great New York movie, it's chaotic, thrilling, exciting - the hype it all real. Josh Safdie basically combines the anxiety of 'Good Time' and 'Uncut Gems' with the epic sprawling nature of a 'Catch Me If You Can', and even works ping pong in there on top of it all. Timothee Chalamet is phenomenal and should definitely win the Oscar for it in my opinion, but it's a tough year with performances like Leo in 'One Battle After Another' and Jesse Plemons in 'Bugonia' and Michael B Jordan in 'Sinners' and more. I have no idea what the Oscars holds - hell, maybe The Rock gets buzz for 'The Smashing Machine'! This is just a complete showcase of his talent and it's stunning on full display.
Former Barstool Idol competitor Luke Manley is also legitimately great in it and has multiple scenes with Timmy….
I hope to see them courtside at a Knicks game together at some point this season.
P.S. Did this whole relationship start because of Nikki Glaser's joke about Sandler saying 'Chalamet' funny?! Crazy if so.
