According to Stephen A. Smith, Melo Is Recruiting Kevin Durant and Kobe To Come To The Knicks...OK Sure
A couple of years ago, a brighter and more hopeful me would be excited about this. The young starry-eyed optimist who believed things like Carmelo and Amare were going to be the start of a dynasty to compete with the Miami Heat. The youthful sap who thought that things like “Becoming a legend in New York” and “being able to play in MSG, Cathedral of Basketball” and “Marketing opportunities in the big city” would actually mean something to superstars. But you know what? That kid is dead. He’s gone. He doesn’t exist because this franchise, this beautifully tragic and hopelessly dysfunctional franchise has completely beaten out any shred or hope that things will work out, completely out of me. There is quite literally, and I say this using the word “literally” in literally the most literal sense of the word, zero percent chance this happens.I give less than zero fucks what Screamin’ A. Smith claims he does or does not know. There is no way that the hyper-competitive Kobe Bryant or Kevin Durant have any interest in playing with Carmelo Anthony, the most bum “superstar” in recent New York sports memory. There is no way that a team that was passed over by GREG MONROE to play for the Milwaukee goddamn Bucks, just drafted Kristaps Porzingis who is a 3-year project AT BEST, and has some burnout has-been for a GM whose entire plan has been to architect a rebuild…but with a max contract on the books, is going to getKevin Durant, the 2nd or 3rd best player in the entire league depending on how you feel about Anthony Davis. I am so goddamn sick of this bullshit Knicks rumor mill that always gives fans hope and never gives us any pay-off. It’s like being a Yankees fan if the Yankees never actually signed anybody and were under .500 every year. It’s completely ridiculous and I’m just so fucking sick of it.
