I don’t really get the reaction to this story? I mean it’s everywhere – Brandon Reilly is like Internet Public Enemy #1. Everyone just automatically coming to the defense of “Trey” the random ass waiter? Sending him hate tweets and death threats for stiffing someone out of a 4-5 buck tip? How do you even know what the waiter did and how the interactions went? He said the dude was a dick and shit on the team he plays for. It obviously was said in a way that wasn’t joking around enough and pissed him off. So why does he just automatically have to tip? Is that what everyone else does? If a waiter comes over and takes a dump on your plate then puts his hand in it and smears it under your eyes like eyeblack are you gonna tip them?

Listen I’m a 20% tipper pretty much always. Spent 6-7 years working in restaurants and bartending and know what a grind it is and how much tips mean. But it’s not just a given thing – you do kind of have to, you know, do your job well, and be a normal person. Yeah Reilly probably shouldn’t have tweeted it basically bragging about it (insert “this generation sucks” comment here), but whatever, what’s done is done. Fuck this guy’s tip. If you walk over to drop the chicken wings off for a guy in a Nebraska Football shirt and say Fuck the Huskers, y’all fucking suck ass, I could care less if the guy doesn’t leave you a 5.
