Kyiv Post- Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, giving his annual report in Verkhovna Rada on Dec. 11, said government is not responsible for corruption, much to the annoyance of lawmakers. Minutes later, he got attacked by one of them – Oleg Barna of the Bloc of President Petro Poroshenko — and in a way that was exceptional even for the often misbehaving Ukrainian legislators.
At the end of the question session, Yatsenyuk asked the lawmakers from Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko’s Bloc to redirect their criticism on energy issues to “your minister,” implying that Energy Minister, Volodymyr Demchyshyn, is Poroshenko’s ally.
Barna, who has organized a petition drive among lawmakers to oust Yatsenyuk, approached the prime minister as he was speaking, gave him a bunch of flowers and then lifted him, trying to carry him away from the rostrum. After a short fight among lawmakers, provoked by Barna, presidential bloc leader Yuriy Lutsenko apologized to Yatsenyuk on behalf of the party.
Nothing better than physical violence inside a foreign country’s legislative house! First things first. That was a complete rookie move by Aresniy. The first rule in Eastern European politics should be never accept flowers from another guy, because that dude is either going to fight/kill you or has hired other people to fight/kill you. It’s like an NBA team drafting a basketball player with bad knees. When shit goes South, that is on you for ignoring the red flags.
I also don’t understand why this would be your move if you are Barna. Give the guy flowers, lift him up, and then get pummeled by a bunch of angry Kievans seems like an awful idea. Everyone on that side of Europe is probably pissed since Putin rules with an iron fist and figuratively butt fucks all of the politicians in the region. This guy had to draw the short straw or something to have his face beaten in. He was probably hoping for the Bears fan from Big Cat’s Indiana town marshal blog to come in and save the day. Instead he got a bunch of angry Eastern Euros looking to bash someone’s brains in on a FRIDAY. Not a Monday, but a Friday. That’s the move of a hopeless people. I think we can all agree that the Ukraine is no longer weak.
And the two MVPs of this video are the dude at the top that is throwing fists from his seat. 90% of any fight is having the high ground. That’s Day 1 stuff in . The other MVP is the guy filming it all on his phone. I don’t know what “WORLDSTAR!!!” is in Ukranian, but I hope he was yelling it.
I also love how someone has already remixed this fight using Missy Elliott. I mean “Get Your Freak On” wouldn’t be in my first 1,000 choices for a song, but entertaining nonetheless.
