App State Being Up 3 With .8 Seconds Left And Finding A Way To Lose In Regulation Has Put Me Into Temporary Gambling Retirement

There are times in a gambler’s life when he can only be pushed so far. Clemson backdoor covering Alabama? Fine, I could handle that, I understood that was coming. But last night was my limit. App State -3, up 8 with 2:30 left to play, up 5 with 40 seconds. Basically just have to play the foul game and survive, been there a million times. Hit a few free throws, wait for Georgia Southern to miss, ice it. Well that didn’t go as planned but after 2 free throws they’re still up 3 with 5 seconds left. At this point I’m saying to myself, I’m cool, I’ll push it and live to see another day or very worst scenario we go to OT and and I have a chance to cover in OT. Then this…..

A 4 point play from 40 feet away. How do you foul there? How do you even come close to touching him on that shot? How does that foul even get called? How How How? And then of course Georgia Southern hits the free throw and wins the game in regulation. One of those moments where I was sitting on my couch just staring at my Gamecast wondering what glitch caused the game to go final when we clearly still had OT left. So bad of a loss I got SVP throwing out thoughts and prayers.

So that’s it. Temporary retirement until Super Bowl. It’s like sitting at a blackjack table with two kings and the dealer hits a 5 on 16 while the drunk moron next to you has blackjack. You just have to know when to walk away and this is that moment. App State forced my hand, they forced a young spry guy like myself (these aren’t exactly correct adjectives) into retirement. Shame on them. Shame Shame

I also somehow had this game Saturday as well. I retire (for 10 days)
