Big Big B1G Game Tonight With #3 Iowa Squaring Off Against #8 Maryland

Ohhhhhhh we got a good one tonight folks.  #3 Iowa Hawkeyes squaring off against the #8 Maryland Terrapins in College Park. Nate has been chirping me for two straight weeks about how he’s sick and tired of hearing people say Iowa is the best team in the B1G.  How he can’t wait until January 28th so Maryland can show they are the best team in the B1G. Eric is right about one thing. That is precisely what’s on the line tonight.  Whoever wins tonight solidifies themselves as the best team in the conference. The thing he’s wrong about is that Maryland isn’t winning tonight Iowa is.  Rico Bosco wrote in his bets blog earlier that I said Jarrod Uthoff was going to “emasculate” Melo Trimble and the Terps. For whatever reason Rico cleaned it up a bit because in my e-mail to him I said Jarrod Uthoff was going to drag his nuts across as Trimble’s face as Iowa stomps into the Xfinity Center and grabs ahold of this conference. I really believe that. This is the biggest game for Iowa basketball in god knows how long.

It can only go one of two ways.  Lose and everybody cools on the Hawks and talk of their no. 1 seed stops. It isn’t exactly like the Iowa football situation but it feels like people are just waiting to knock this Iowa team down a peg or two. Like they’re not worthy of their current top-5  ranking. Lose and it grants everyone that opportunity. Flip side. Win and this becomes one of the most talked about teams in the country from here on out. Fran and the boys have gotten a little taste of that after sweeping Michigan State and Purdue during the season, going 7-0 in the conference and being ranked #3. A win tonight brings even more of that and proves this team is legit. Hawks win. Calling it. Iowa +4. Book it.
