Wait a second, now I know it’s been a couple decades since I’ve seen this childhood masterpiece in full, but I’m a bit lost. These scenes were filmed for the same flick that had Robin Williams hilariously pat out a fire on on his fake 70-year-old tits? Because that was a little too deep. Sally Field needed to channel more of that kind Mama Gump in this movie, even without the deleted scenes. What, a husband who doesn’t bring anything to the table can’t throw an absolute rager for his kid’s bday? Let him be a cool dad. It’s a movie, dammit. Let us think everything is all peaches and cream unlike real life where your father is more concerned about the Eagles than the happiness of his children.
