The Eliminator: Gangster Movies

Pick which one of the four you would eliminate

Well would you look at that. We have ourselves a good old fashioned Francis Ford Coppola v. Martin Scorsese bloodbath. I’m honestly not sure how this vote will go. The Godfather is the oldest of the bunch, but I think the most critically acclaimed. Godfather II is a sequel, but is one of the rare sequels that many people like more than the original. Even though Goodfellas is the only one of the four that didn’t win the Oscar for Best Picture, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if it received the least amount of elimination votes. And while The Departed being the most recent of the bunch means it may not have the cachet of the others, I imagine a great majority of the younger Barstool crowd appreciates a movie from the 2000s in Boston.

As for me, I’m getting rid of The Departed. I just have the other three a tier ahead of it. And this is by no means a knock on The Departed, which I loved. I still remember seeing it in the theater and being exhausted by the end. Just a fucking ROLLER COASTER of emotions the whole entire time. And I am still mad at Anthony Anderson for SPOILER ALERT allowing Leo to get killed. I’m not mad at the character Anthony Anderson plays but the actual actor Anthony Anderson. And even though watching Marky Mark murder Matt Damon’s ass takes away some of the sting, it still hurts because Bill Costigan was my favorite Leo role of all-time.

But as always, your voice can be heard by voting below.
