Yeah, you’re waking up with Trayce Thompson’s walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth against the Mets. Technically. But what you’re REALLY waking up with here is Vin Scully’s voice, and that’s honestly the best wakeup that a baseball fan could ever ask for. Now, I have to point this out, just because it is a possibility. I hope this isn’t the case. But in theory, this could be the last walk-off home run that Vin Scully ever calls. I know. It upsets me, too. But it had to be said. If it is the last one, then I’ll look back on this blog at the end of the season, and I’ll take it all in. For now, though, I’m going to pretend like there will be many more to come, as the greatest baseball broadcaster of all-time finishes out his final season behind the mic.
