Donald Trump's Comeback To Hillary Clinton's "Delete Your Account" Tweet Was Underwhelming
On my Harold Lederman card, I am giving this round to Hillary. The “Delete Your Account” tweet always packs a mollywhopper of a punch, but can only be used once. It usually requires a quick, witty comeback in order to be brushed off. Trump, one of the best verbal counterpunches of all-time, could have fired back quickly with a “You know about deleting things more than anyone”, but instead stayed quiet for a bit, leading us all to believe that we may have an L Bomb (Lewinsky Bomb) being dropped on Hil Dawg’s head. Instead we got a watered down response about the size of her staff followed by the email delete comment. The famed Teigen-Portnoy Twitter war of 2014 tells us that the speed of your response in a Twitter beef is sometimes even more important than the response itself (unless you write an incredible tweet or create an incredible Hells Bells video).
Still, I am not discounting The Donald going with the Rope A Dope strategy as a way to honor the fallen Muhammad Ali. But we all know that there is no doubt that Trump is going to come back strong at Hillary with a flurry of Mike Tyson uppercuts. And when he does, RIP to both of their mentions.
