Darrelle Revis has "Tanked It"
NY Daily News – Darrelle Revis announced this summer that he was “going to play until the wheels fall off.”
With wide receivers toasting him on a weekly basis, it looks more and more like No. 24 is driving the Flintstone Mobile.
The Jets cornerback’s decline is due, in part, to his questionable drive and lack of commitment and discipline to maintain his body.
“He’s done,” a Revis confidant told the Daily News. “If he had his way, he’d be done right now. He doesn’t want to play anymore. He’s made a lot of money.” …
While he can’t say for certain what Revis is thinking, the Revis confidant put the cornerback’s season this way: “He tanked it.”
The Jets thought they’d stolen a shutdown corner away from the Patriots, and they were right. They got a corner who’s completely shut it down. And it would take a heart of stone not to laugh.
If any hardcore Gang Green fan (an endangered species, but they’re not extinct yet) doubts the veracity of the “Revis confidant being quoted here, they need to bear in mind that this was written by Manish Mehta, who is such a house boy for the Jets that he can’t talk if Woody Johnson is drinking a glass of water. I talked to Mehta on my old radio show right after the Jets were caught dead to rights tampering with The Island, and he alternately denied they did anything wrong, then said they did but it was no big deal. So you know that anybody who’ll whore himself out for an organization that shamelessly wouldn’t print anything so damaging if it wasn’t true.
And you don’t even have to take my word for it. Don’t trust me but trust other Jets fans. And your lyin’ eyes:

@Revis24 come on man. If you don’t want to play anymore retire. pic.twitter.com/iArZ0CcXwd

So congratulations to the J-E-T-S. This is what $17 million this year with another $15 million coming next year got them. A declining Flintstone Mobile with questionable drive, no commitment or discipline who’s tanking it. Meanwhile the man in the grey hoodie who let him walk replaced him with a Super Bowl hero/undrafted third year kid out of West Alabama who fights his ass off on every down and has a cap hit about equal to what Revis pays in tips.
It all proves once again something I’ve been saying for years. If the Jets didn’t exist, I would’ve had to invent them.
