Happy Birthday To Wally The Beagle (My Favorite Ongoing Barstool Theme)

This is one of my favorite ongoing stories at Barstool Sports. It’s probably new for all you new Stoolies out there, but once you finish reading the below thread it will reinforce your belief that Barstool and the Stoolies stand for everything that is good in this world.

So without further ado here is the back story on how we helped save Wally the Beagle and gave him a loving forever home. Happy birthday big man!

Hey El Pres,

I just read your blog on beagles being held in lab facilities and never seeing grass or sun their entire lives. These beagles are normal put down after they reach a certain age. I go to Mount Ida College and I am studying Vet. Science. At this school we rescue any where from 20-30 beagles a year. When they come to our facility they will not walk on leashes or respond to treats. They are afraid of everything and anything that moves or makes a noise. We train them all year to learn how to be real life loving dogs. These animals do not know love or affection, all they know is needles and cages. Sometimes it takes months to get them to be comfortable walking up and down stairs or even going to the bathroom outside. But in the end these beagles turn out to be some of the best pets a person could ever ask for.

At the end of the year we adopt the beagles out to the public. If you are interested or know anyone interested in adopting a fully trained loving beagle, who just needs love and attention let me know! I know you and the first lady could use a beagle!

If you are interested let me know!

Kelly

PS – This picture is one of the girls, her name is Jackie. There are boys and girls. The adoptions aren’t until Spring Semester. Any interested people can set up an appointment to visit the animals, starting in January. The adoption fee is 40$.

This is obviously in response to the Beagle post I did a couple days ago.  Let me just say that The First Lady and I had a 3 hour conversation last night about adopting Jackie.   The only hesitation is we already have a minpin and our apartment isn’t that big.  Plus The First Lady takes Stella to work with her everyday so Jackie would be home or at the office with me.   She’d pretty much become the Barstool Mascot.  My question is how are Beagles as pets?   Do they bark a lot.  Stella barks a ton.   It’s hard to blog with a barker.  But look at that face!   So fucking cute.  She could have Sales Guy’s office and Sales guy could just sit on the street not making sales calls like he always does.   Either way I feel like I got to act fast because no way somebody is adopted Jackie.    And if you’re interested in Jackie or any of these dogs click the link for all the adoption info…

Pres,

Back in December you posted an article mentioning the beagle adoption at Mt. Ida College (http://boston.barstoolsports.com/random-thoughts/this-one-is-for-all-the-dog-lovers-out-there/).

I showed the link to my fiance and she checked the site every day since.  Long story short we went to Mt. Ida today and adopted a beagle named Wally.  The dog is great and we’re thrilled to have him as our own.  I wanted to send you a thanks since if you never posted that article we never would have known what they do and he still may be looking for a home and I’d still be dogless.

Barstool Sports, finding dogs home since 2011.

Thanks,

Craig

Probably the best email I’ve ever received.  Not even joking.  Like if Barstool gets shut down by the Government, the feminists and PC Police tomorrow it will all have been worth it.    Seriously this is awesome.    And people who think I exaggerate how hypocritical and stupid school administrators are just remember this.  The girl who originally sent us this email got yelled at by her school and emailed me begging for me to delete the blog about the Beagles.  Apparently it was against school policy whatever the fuck that means.   Naturally I refused to take it down.  I felt bad for her, but fuck them.  I don’t give a fuck about dumb ass administrators who are so stupid and power hungry that they’ll cut off their nose to spite their face.   I care about trying to save Beagles.     Just so typical of college administrators.  Just making rules and policies that make no sense and serve no purpose with no justification or logic.

Hey Pres,

You asked and of course I’ll stop everything I’m doing at work to send along an update on Wally. He’s been great since we got him and the girls who took care of him while he was at the Vet Tech, Gabby and Ariella, obviously did a great job with him and deserve a shout out. They said he was afraid of everything when he first got to them and that was evident when we took him home as he was very shy and scared of almost everything that moved or made a sound but quickly came around after a few weeks. He loves running around outside more than you can imagine and is without a doubt the sweetest and most loving dog I’ve met, how someone could ever bring themselves to testing/abusing a dog from when they were a puppy is beyond me. If you ever want to come see the dog that you found a home for you’re more than welcome, you can even bring Stella along. Thanks again for bringing Mt. Ida’s program to my attention, we’re lucky to have gotten a dog like Wally and it’s great that you were able to find him a home. Attached are some new pictures of Wally for you.

Craig

PS. Did you ever make starfish dog collars? Could have sworn I saw them one day and was going to get Wally one to pay homage but never found them again. That’ll really get the bitches attention when he’s on the prowl.

In case you don’t know who Wally is here is the precursor to this blog. I asked for an update because we posted another blog about Beagles today. Fucking awesome email. I needed a smile on my face today and this did just the trick. I love dogs. Honestly how the fuck can anybody ever test on dogs? Makes no sense to me on any level.
