Huuuuuuuuuuuuge win for the young Iowa Hawkeyes last night. Probably the B1G game of the year last night between the Hawks and the Boilermakers. 20 lead changes. A couple controversial calls at the end. Peter Jok going OFF for 29, 8 and 6. But the moment of the night by far was former walk-on and 6-foot-7 Nicholas Baer stuffing the SHIT outta 7-foot-2 Isaac Haas. Pushed his shit allllllllll the way in. That is cool in itself but Isaac Haas is more than just a 7-foot-2 dude. If you’ve ever seen him you know what I’m talking about. Don’t get me wrong, no one would mistake him for Hakeem Olajuwon around the rim but he is just a massive human being.

He’s a big 7-foot-2 if that makes any sense. He’s bigger than your average 7-foot-2 guy. He looks like Frankenstein is what I’m trying to say. Contrast that with Nicholas Baer. 6-foot-7 and the textbook definition of every white basketball player ever. Gritty, works hard, dives for balls, does the little things, high motor. The fact that he’s a walk on makes it even more perfect. So for him to swat a human who is much much much larger than him was a big victory for Iowa. Maybe even bigger than the upset win over a #17 ranked team. Big victory for Nicholas. Big victory for the young Hawkeyes.
