JOHN FUCKING RAHM! Strong finish. Decent putt. The 22-year-old Spaniard came into Sunday 3 back at 6-under. He was part of the crew of names most people hadn’t heard of. According to Wikipedia he was the low amateur at the 2016 US Open and played his college golf at Arizona State. It really must’ve sucked being a 6-foot-2 future pro athlete with a Spanish accent at Arizona State. Poor guy.
And so a week that began all about the return of Tiger Woods and the star-powered group of TW, DJ and J-Day ends with a relatively unknown youngster pulling off Tiger-like antics on a Tiger-less Sunday. A microcosm of the last several years. The changing of the guard. There are so damn many young guys that are so damn good at golf.
Here’s our final leaderboard.
We’ve got the Phoenix Open circus next weekend, followed by Pebble Beach, Riviera and then the Honda kicking off the Florida swing. Tiger’s playing Dubai next weekend, and 3 of the next 4 overall. Golf’s ramping up.
Oh, and Trent and I have a big announcement tomorrow. Slidin’ into the golf media world like…
