ID- One of our favourite chick flicks is being made into a musical. Pop star Elton John and playwright Paul Rudnick have signed on to write a musical adaptation of The Devil Wears Prada, the producer Kevin McCollum said Thursday. The collaboration is a significant step for the project, which Mr. McCollum has been working on for two years. Mr. John has extensive Broadway experience, including as the composer for The Lion King, and he won a Tony Award in 2000 for writing the score for Aida. The musical will be adapted from the 2003 novel by Lauren Weisberger and the 2006 film that starred Meryl Streep and Anne Hathaway. The story is about the hellish tenure of a young woman working as the personal assistant to Ms. Priestly, the imperious editor of a fashion magazine.

What a damn day! What a GOD DAMN day! First John Mayer announces he’s going on tour and now this. Heaven is in fact a real place that exists. This is destiny. This is why I moved to New York City. There were greater forces at work when Keith Duncan’s field goal kick sailed through the uprights against #3 Michigan on the night of November 12th, 2016. Yes, it’s better for my blogging career for me to be physically in NYC with the rest of the guys. But that’s clearly not what this was all about. It was all about me being in NYC when it was announced that The Devil Wears Prada was coming to Broadway. In case you didn’t know, The D Wears P is one of my favorite movies of all time. It’s fantastic. It criminally gets labeled a chick flick when it is very much a movie for anyone and everyone. Don’t let your masculinity get in the way of enjoying a genuinely superb film. And now that film is coming to Broadway and I wanna see it opening night. Elton John is writing it! It’s gonna be a delight.

PS- I’m not the type to ask for favors or handouts but if you wanna hook a brother up with some The D Wears P Broadway tickets, slide in them DMs.
