Blogger Forced To Pay 'Substantial Sum' For Blogging (Falsely) That Melania Trump Was An Escort

<> on January 20, 2017 in Washington, DC.

Fox NewsA Maryland blogger has been forced to pay a “substantial sum” to Melania Trump as part of a settlement for a defamation lawsuit over an article containing unsubstantiated claims that the first lady once worked as an escort, her lawyers announced Tuesday.

“I posted an article on August 2, 2016 about Melania Trump that was replete with false and defamatory statements about her,” Webster Tarpley, the 71-year-old blogger, said in a statement by Trump’s attorneys, according to the Washington Post.

Trump’s legal team declined to provide the settlement amount. Tarpley, of Gaithersburg, didn’t respond to requests from the Washington Post for comment, but his lawyer confirmed a settlement had been reached.

Couple things here. One, it’s bullshit that a blogger got sued and lost. I thought bloggers could say anything. We’re not journalists. We have no ethics. We’re not bound by some code of integrity guiding us through the treacherous art of writing. You get into the blog game so you can say whatever the fuck you want, whenever the fuck you want, about whatever the fuck you want. There’s no glory in it. There’s no respect. And therefore there should be no consequences.

Two, what 71-year-old blogs? Is that a joke? Of course he somehow fucked it up and got sued and lost and had to pay a bunch of money to the Trumps. Wrong field bro. Wrong profession. The blog life is meant for the young and fresh. If you’re too old and risk it then your life starts to fall apart at the seams. Typically right around the 39/40-year-old range. You go through a phase that normal people don’t go through and there’s no telling if you come out the other side alive or not. Just a word to the wise.

71? No shot, not even close. Webster Tarpley never stood a chance.
