Northwestern With the Casual Full Court Pass at the Buzzer
Well holy shit, needless to say that was the biggest play in Northwestern’s basketball history. After leaving a bunch of free throws short and seemingly having to go to OT, Northwestern throwing the casual home run play.
Obviously, the pass is absurd. But what a job by Pardon to not only make the catch but give himself an angle to get the ball up. They needed this win after losing 3 of the last 4, to feel pretty comfortable about making the NCAA Tournament. The win gives Northwestern 10 B1G wins and 21 wins in the regular season, making it tough exclude them like what happens every other year, so go crazy WhiteSoxDave.
For Michigan, they had a couple chances to seal this game. First there was the bizarre lane violation on the 1-and-1 which turned into a turnover, followed by an awful possession from Derrick Walton where he was the only one to touch the ball and had to force a shot at the end of the shot clock, before Irvin took a 3 a little early in transition which rimmed out, giving Northwestern the ball to do that.
Brent, you dog. You know he had Northwestern -1.5 here:
