Andrew Bogut Played 58 Seconds For The Cavs And Made $400,000 Before Breaking His Leg
Yahoo - The Cleveland Cavaliers’ acquisition of veteran center Andrew Bogut ranked as one of the best pickups of the NBA’s annual waiver deadline. While the 32-year-old Bogut was far from stellar before his trade away from the Dallas Mavericks, not-ancient big men with long histories of defensive excellence do not often become available at league-minimum prices. At the very least, Bogut seemed set to give the Cavs rim protection and another option behind Tristan Thompson in their effort to repeat as champions, perhaps with yet another win over his ex-teammates on the Golden State Warriors.
But Bogut’s season with the Cavaliers could now to over as soon as it started. He made his debut with the team in Monday’s home game against the Miami Heat, replacing Thompson at the 0:37 mark of the first quarter. With 11:36 remaining in the second quarter, Bogut had to be carried off the court after injuring his left leg attempting to close out on Heat forward Okaro White.
I guess this is a classic good news, bad news situation. Obviously the bad news is his leg is broken. So that sucks.
The good news far outweighs the bad though. The good, maybe even great news, is Bogut is getting paid for 58 seconds of work on the Cavs. That’s my actual dream in life. Sure being a blogger is close to that, but the real American dream is getting money to do absolutely nothing. And I sure as shit ain’t getting NBA money, that’s for sure. Snapping your leg in 58 seconds and cashing in for $400,000, sign me the fuckkkkk up. Legit nothing sounds better in the entire world. I’ll even take the Sonny Koufax approach and have a cab run over my foot for $200k.
And I guess a little more good news, is he doesn’t have to share a locker room with Dr. LeBron James, Ph.D. anymore. Look at this asshole making Bogut’s injury all about himself:
Oh did ya? But you were hoping it was knee on quad….but you heard it break? It’s all about you LeBron, all about you.
