Dave Goucher Leaves Bruins Radio Booth To Become TV Play-By-Play Guy For Las Vegas Golden Knights

After 17 years in the Boston Bruins radio booth, Dave Goucher is heading West to become the first TV play-by-play guy in Las Vegas Golden Knights history. Not only is it a once in a lifetime opportunity, it’s a great career advancement for the excellent broadcaster, whose profile will only get larger now that he’ll be working in a visual medium.

It’s a fantastic gain for Sin City but a huge loss for Boston sports fans. Simply, Goucher was aces at calling Bs games for those of us who couldn’t be in front of a TV or make it to the Garden when the team took the ice. His smooth, impeccable call made it easy for listeners to ‘see’ exactly what was going down on the ice. And while the Bs did have some early shit years during his tenure here, he gifted us with two of the greatest calls in Boston sports this century.

But now, the gifted Gouch will take his patented ‘skating left to right across your radio’ to a new team in a new city with a new partner (former Bruin ‘Sheriff’ Shane Hnidy) to build something from the ground up and that’s not something many get to do in that industry. Good for him. And best of luck to him and the Sheriff in bringing NHL hockey to that desert stopover for GIs.
