NFL Films Releases a Double Dose of Patriots Porn

NFL Films dropping the trailer for Do Your Job 2 on the same morning as the trailer for the Patriots’ America’s Game is more than I can handle. It’s like finding a great porn after you’ve already gotten the job done with a very good porn. You still appreciate the quality, but it’d be enjoyed more with a little refractory period in between.
That said, I can appreciate the timing. First of all because it’s going to be a little bittersweet having Julian Edelman and LeGarrette Blount do the America’s Game since one is out for the year and the other is, even worse, in Philly. But also because the first Do Your Job was, in this critic’s opinion, the best feature NFL Films has ever done on the Pats. It just had so many great elements we’ve never gotten to see before. Belichick at his best, the Master of All He Surveys. Coaches and assistants we never hear from. Ernie Adams, for godsakes. “Pink Stripes.” The practice footage of Malcolm Butler being coached on the exact play he won the Super Bowl on. I have to imagine that with so much to work with, this sequel will be every bit as good as the original.
And both air back-to-back on September 6th? You’re gonna need a bigger box of Kleenex.
