Quick Shifts 11/9: Stick Taps For Brian Boyle As He Scores His 1st Goal Since Cancer Diagnosis

That right there is the goal of the year, folks. Just an awesome moment all around. Brian Boyle was diagnosed with a form of Leukemia on September 19th. Since that moment, it sounds like he’s done nothing but prepare his body to be the best hockey player he can be for the New Jersey Devils. And just under 2 months from the initial diagnosis, here he is scoring his 1st goal of the season and his 1st goal as a Devil. Hockey Tough doesn’t even begin to explain this guy. I doubt he’s looking for any kind of preferential treatment but he deserves all the praise after this goal. Count this celly as a huge win for Humans vs Cancer.
