Inside The NBA Went Live From Vegas Last Night And It Was Absolutely Horrific
Here’s the thing about Live TV- it’s a double-edged sword. From a production standpoint it’s great. There’s no edit, so once you wrap that’s it. But if you’re not prepared, it shows. It takes a massive amount of communication between talent and production to pull off a successful show. Judging from last night’s broadcast, TNT did none of that. Besides Chuck trying to pronounce the word “accompaniment, ” it was so bad that I couldn’t even trick myself into thinking it was funny.
They spent the rest of the show kind of making fun of the band but kind of not? It was tough to hear because the audio levels were messed up. Whatever the case, each interaction was worse than the last.
It’s not like they didn’t have anything to talk about, the Lakers/Spurs game was exciting as was the first half of Toronto/Cleveland. Their philosophy seems to be, “figure it out on the fly and hope for the best.” Which to their credit has worked in the past. They just need to tighten it up if they’re going to be doing it in front of a live audience. Because that was UGLY.
The most upsetting part was that I missed out on Andre’s story from My 600-Lb Life. He had just gotten rid of his in-bed hot plate and was starting to turn the corner. If anyone knows how his story ended, let me know. I think he had a bright future ahead of him.
