Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Looks Ridiculous in an Awesome, Scary Type of Way
This was easily my favorite Super Bowl commercial last night since I’m probably the biggest dinosaur nerd I know right up there with Clemzingis and Digs. In my closet I still have dinosaur action figures from when I was a kid along with books on top of books of dinos. For whatever reason they fascinate the fuck out of me, so by default I LOVE Jurassic Park (as well as Godzilla). When this trailer popped on I was pumped to say the least.
We’re starting off with an immediate suspense filled scene with a hybrid monster dino that the scientists probably cooked up. At what point do they learn mixing dinosaur DNAs probably isn’t the best of ideas and always leads to them becoming out of control freaks? Never? Cool, we’ll be making these movies until I die I guess.
Anyways, that opening scene in the trailer tells me 1) we’re gonna have a similar scene to the Raptor kitchen scene in the first one which is about as awesome and suspenseful as it gets
2) we’re getting dinos off the island and onto American soil just like in the Lost World.
J.A. Bayona comes in as the new director and it looks like he’s on a mission to make this movie dark and scary with a lot of jump scares. I like Jurassic World, but it definitely could’ve been better. I’m hopeful here with Fallen Kingdom.
