Amazon On Bender To Create Robots For The Home
Good news for the robot community. There’s a lot of Silicon Valley goofin’ goin’ on at Amazon right now and the focus is on robotics. At their main warehouses they have tiny mobile robots synchronized with databases to move items, helping to expedite the processing of orders.
According to their site:
“Amazon has a dedicated focus on research and development to continuously explore new opportunities to extend its product lines into new areas that will redefine what ‘Now’ means.”
And they want to bring robots out of the warehouse and into your home to help with every day life. An article in Independent Online reported that the company is making huge strides and investments towards this goal.
The retail and cloud computing giant has embarked on an ambitious, top-secret plan to build a domestic robot, according to people familiar with the plans. [It’s] Codenamed “Vesta,” after the Roman goddess of the hearth, home and family.
It’s pretty cool but sometimes all this robot talk makes me a little nervous. They’re taking over warehouses, and soon they’ll be in our homes. What about our jobs? What if Barstool just gets robots to piece together stories? What if Barstool just gets robots to piece together stories? What if Barstool just gets robots to piece together stories?
