Canadian host Jessica Allen "clarifies" comment about how all hockey people are rich white spoiled douches - Kirk Minihane Show

Everyone saw Don Cherry talking about "you people," but far fewer people saw "The Social" cast member Jessica Allen's comments about hockey people.

Allen on Tuesday said hockey players, i.e. fans of Cherry's, are generally "white boys" and "bullies."

“They were not generally thoughtful," she said. "Their parents were able to afford to spend $5,000 year on minor hockey: $5,000 is a lot of money. You can do other things besides than spending time in an arena. They could go on a trip and learn about the world.”

“For me, Don Cherry is the walking and talking representative of that type," she added.

Allen has since apologized (to thunderous applause from her studio audience), noting that the notion that hockey players are all white spoiled assholes (I'm paraphrasing here) is simply her "lived truth."

On today's Kirk Minihane Show, Minihane talks about why Cherry's been tossed on the ash heap of history, but Allen will continue hosting her crappy Canadian show for as long as she wants.
