Reliving The Time Villanova's Collin Gillespie Made Barstool HQ Very Angry With A Late Game Bucket
He's already won a National Championship, and now, he's looking to do it again. Villanova guard Collin Gillespie joined today's Barstool Bench Mob to discuss Wildcat hoops, his golf game, and the time he made some folks at Barstool HQ very unhappy.
It was the Quarterfinal Round of the 2019 Big East Tournament. Villanova has a big lead, the shot clock is off, and the Wildcats have the ball. Gillespie has control across mid-court, and instead of dribbling out, he closes the game with a layup. This was a brutal sequence of events for everyone who had the under in that game, including Dave and Big Cat.
On today's episode, Marty, Rico and Jake share their thoughts on the Blue Devils' win over Notre Dame (01:44). Then the mob breaks down the rest of the early-week slate (09:58) and gives some more love to the red hot Rutgers Scarlet Knights (36:07). We keep the big guests rolling with Villanova guard Collin Gillespie who joins the pod to talk about Wildcats hoops and facing the wrath of an angry Dave Portnoy (59:31). Then the guys preview an electric weekend slate including a monster #1 Gonzaga vs. #3 Iowa matchup (01:26:40). Things are heating up around the country so make sure to lock in and listen twice a week and don't forget to rate, review and subscribe!
