The Real Reason Why Mac McClung's Little Brother Was Upset After Texas Tech Missed a Buzzer Beater Against West Virginia A Few Weeks Ago
On today's Barstool Bench Mob, we welcomed on Texas Tech Guard Mac McClung. One of the most electrifying players in college basketball was generous enough to give us some time to discuss his transition from Georgetown to Texas Tech, playing for Chris Beard, a myth about a certain rapper being part of his family, and much more.
I also had to ask him about a chain of events that occurred a couple of weeks ago, back on January 25th. The Red Raiders were in Morgantown to take on the West Virginia Mountaineers. Texas Tech was down by one point in the final few seconds, and McClung put up a baseline jumper for the win. Unfortunately, he missed it. But the purpose of bringing that up during the interview wasn't to dwell on that. Instead, after the game ended, the broadcast put up an iso shot of a little kid with his arms crossed and not happy at all. This young man became an instant meme:
Well, it turns out that after some investigative Big J work, this little fella is Mac McClung's little brother. But get this, the reason for his sadness was NOT because of his big bro missing a buzzer beater. Instead, something went horribly wrong with his toy train moments prior to the game ending.
We've all been there before, so it's hard to blame him. Our mom has taken away one of our toys or they broke at a certain point, and it is a sad, empty feeling. Hopefully Mac's little brother has a new train to play with at future Texas Tech games moving forward.
