I'm getting really tired of the whole "you signed up for this" narrative when it comes to Meghan Markle's mental health
I'm not going to lie, I'm fired up.
And apparently so is Piers Morgan because he blocked a slew of Barstool's employees on Twitter last night. Well, he didn't block me... yet.
Following Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s sit down with Oprah Winfrey, Morgan said he did not believe Markle’s statements about mental health. How are you not going to believe someone that literally uttered the words, "I just didn’t want to be alive anymore" and "I was ashamed to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry. But I knew that if I didn't say it — then I would do it."
Look, I'm getting really tired of the whole "you signed up for this" narrative. Did she know she was marrying a prince, obviously. Did she know that'd come with public scrutiny, duh. Does that mean one single person is equipped to take on the abuse of millions? Abso-fucking-lutely not.
I actually rant about this during my "spill the tea" segment of this week's Tea with Publyssity episode.
It turns out, I'm not alone in this sentiment. U.K. media regulator Ofcom has since launched an investigation after receiving more than 41,000 complaints about Morgan's comments. His 'Good Morning Britain' co-host, Alex Beresford, also confronted him on air about his remarks.
Morgan walked off set while the camera's rolled. Since, he conveniently "stepped down" from his hosting role.
This guy rather quit his job than admit he was wrong.
What a wuss.
