Medieval Times Fucking Rules

I don't think I have to really expand past that extremely thorough and well written headline, right? On this week's Podfathers, which has been carefully embedded above for your listening pleasure, Large and I wax poetic about a wonderful slice of American known as Medieval Times.

It has been decades since I stepped foot into a castle located conveniently in the middle of a strip mall but my memories of it has always been a 10/10. Photo ops with literal (fictional) royalty, roasted chicken that tastes like it was cooked by the gods themselves, and some of the finest knights on the planet engaging in battle for you on very real horses.

Pretty much everything you loved about Game Of Thrones that wasn't on this screen:

I was too young to partake in the finer things in life when I went to Medieval Times, but I imagine throwing a responsible amount of alcohol into the mix only enhances the experience like alcohol usually does, as does quoting some of the incredible lines from the cult classic Cable Guy

Sidenote: The Sam Sweet trial is one of the greatest side stories to ever take place in cinematic history

I'm not sure if when covid restrictions will loosen up enough to reopen the drawbridge at this classic establishment or if we will ever be able to host a Barstool At The Medieval Times like Large and I mentioned. But if we do I'm calling dibs on that shit for Podfathers listeners first because every parent DESPERATELY needs a night of good old fashioned family fun full of food, drinks, and strangers going medieval on each others ass after a year being locked inside with their little monsters.

Also on this week's pod we discuss:

- A woman who gave birth to a baby in a toilet because she thought she had kidney stones growing inside of her instead of a human

- Hammocks and Adirondack Chairs: Actually good or actually bad?

- Large's OUTRAGEOUS weapons cache at his house

- The best outdoor events to do with kids during the pandemic

- Godzilla vs. Kong thoughts and review
